Assign items and continue to checkout

Buyer steps in the cart

  1. Add the items you want to buy.
  2. For each item, use Ship to to choose one of the two destinations set by the merchant.
  3. Add a gift message if you want one for that item.
  4. Choose a requested delivery date if that option is shown.
  5. Select Save destinations and checkout.

Assign every item before continuing. The current flow uses the two destinations already set by the merchant. It does not provide free-form address entry or an option to add another destination.

Buyer steps in checkout

  1. Review the destination context shown for the items.
  2. Review the shipping and estimated-tax context.
  3. Select the one combined OrderRoutes shipping option when it is available.
  4. Continue only when the item assignments and checkout details are correct.

Shopify continues to display one native checkout address. That address may be used for Shopify checkout, billing, fraud, or contact purposes. The OrderRoutes destination attached to each item is the delivery instruction for that item.

Merchant support steps

If a buyer cannot find the intended destination, confirm that both storefront presets are configured and clearly labeled. Describe the item-level OrderRoutes destinations and the single native Shopify address separately. Do not ask the buyer to place raw addresses, checkout tokens, account details, or order identifiers in a support reply.

If saving or checkout does not work

Assignment, pricing, validation, and save errors keep the buyer on the cart. Correct the highlighted choice, make sure every item has a destination, and retry. If checkout reports an unassigned item, return to the cart and complete that assignment.

Do not promise tax accuracy from planning context or describe this as native Shopify multi-address checkout.
