Zero missed stock count lines

Zero missed lines only when the products were included in the count scope and staff have confirmed that the physical quantity should be zero.

Plan Requirement

Ops plan or higher.

Role Or Permission Requirement

manage_counts is required to change missed count lines. approve_apply_adjustments is required later if the zeroed lines create adjustments that need approval and application.

Direct app path: /app/stock-counts/{stockCountId}.

  • Missed selected

  • Confirmation: type "ZERO"
  • ZERO

Steps

  1. Open the stock count detail page.
  2. Use Line status to show missed lines.
  3. Review each missed line and confirm the product was actually counted.
  4. Review Missed selected, Missed total, and Missed expected units.
  5. In Confirmation: type "ZERO", type ZERO.
  6. Zero the missed lines.
  7. Review the discrepancy values that were created.
  8. Choose an Adjustment reason before approving or applying adjustments.

Shopify Read And Write Behavior

Zeroing missed lines changes BackstockOps counted quantities. It does not change Shopify inventory until approved adjustments are applied.

Expected Success State

Missed lines become counted as zero, discrepancy totals update, and the count can move into discrepancy review.

Common Troubleshooting

  • Do not zero a missed line if staff simply skipped that shelf or product.
  • If missed lines seem too broad, review the count scope and filters before typing ZERO.
  • If the confirmation does not work, type uppercase ZERO exactly as shown.
  • If zeroing creates a large adjustment value, approval thresholds may require a separate approver.
